High in the peaceful French Alps, on September 19, 1846, two humble shepherd children—Maximin Giraud and Mélanie Calvat—encountered a vision that would change their lives and touch the world. Near the village of La Salette, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to them, seated, radiant, and weeping. Clothed in brilliant light, she delivered a message of profound love and sorrow, calling all her children to return to her Son through prayer, conversion, and reconciliation.
Mary’s tears spoke of a mother’s deep heartbreak for a world that had drifted away from Christ. But from this sorrow sprang hope. The Church, after careful discernment, recognized the apparition as authentic. A shrine was soon built on the holy mountain, drawing pilgrims from every corner of the world.
To carry her message far and wide, a religious congregation was born: The Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette, founded in 1852. Charged with proclaiming the Good News of reconciliation, these missionaries now serve in more than 25 countries, ministering through parish life, global missions, and especially the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist—pillars of healing and spiritual nourishment.
Here at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, we are deeply honored to be led by La Salette Missionaries, who continue this sacred mission with joy, humility, and a passionate commitment to renewal. Their presence among us is a living reminder of Mary’s invitation to return to the heart of Jesus.
We warmly invite you to experience the healing, peace, and joy found in Christ and in the message of His Blessed Mother. Whether you are a visitor, returning to the Church, or looking for a spiritual home, you are always welcome here.
